Program Philosophy

Vision: To be an elite program that instills character and leadership, while teaching young men to relentlessly pursue their God-given purpose.

Purpose: Eternal Drive for Excellence

Mission: The Victory Football program will train young men to put their Heart in all endeavors, working in Unity with others and embracing Discipline, empowering the team through Dedication, while developing Leadership skills and helping each player gain Enthusiasm for their God-Given purpose.

The H.U.D.D.L.E.

Football is a context used to guide young men to the realization that each one has a God given purpose and in that purpose they add value to society. We will offer each athlete a solid foundation on which they can later construct lives of meaning and value. In utilizing the lessons learned in the game of football (Heart, Unity, Discipline, Dedication, Leadership, Enthusiasm) each young man will leave us with a clear and compelling definition of what it means to be a man. Through this program young men will be given a code of conduct for manhood.

Teamwork/Unity

Vision of Athletics at Victory Christian School

The purpose of Victory Christian School is to train, prepare, and equip young people to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Athletics at VCS is to be an integral part of that process.

There are four basic goals of the VCS Athletic Department:
1. Develop Christ-like character in each athlete (Galatians 5:22)
2. Be an effective witness of the transforming power of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16)
3. Fully develop the athletic abilities of each athlete (Colossians 3:17,23; II Timothy 2:5)
4. Develop and maintain good relationships with other schools and coaches (I Timothy 3:7)

Approach to Athletics

Victory Christian School considers God’s Word as the final authority for our approach to athletics. It is not the “world’s” system of values and expectations that the school embraces; rather, it is the uncompromised Word of God that provides the guiding force behind our expectations for our athletic program, and the teaching, training and life example set by our coaching staff.

Value of Athletics

The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat will pass away; however, the lessons learned along the road of athletic experience can last a lifetime. Even if an athlete never scores the winning basket or has his/her name in the newspaper, their involvement on a team should still develop the Christ-like character that will enable them to fulfill God’s call on their life. Therefore, it is imperative that coaches recognize that an athlete's involvement in a sport may be an integral part of God's plan for that child.

Through participation in team and individual sport activities, in practices, demonstrations and competition, Victory Christian School athletes and coaches have as their primary goal to bring glory to God. “…whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”(I Cor. 10:31).

Administration Statement

Victory Christian School is an educational institution which is supported and under the authority of Victory Christian Center. The Word of God is central in the education process. The goals of Victory Christian School reflect those of Victory Christian Center and are within the scope of the vision for Victory Christian Center.
