Jordan Blake Wood transferred to Victory Christian School as a sophomore. In his high school football career, Jordan has displayed adaptability and skill in numerous positions including cornerback, wide receiver, safety, and kick return. When playing defense Jordan’s strengths on the field include the ability to evaluate the opponent’s offense and adapt his defensive skills to frustrate their forward progress. Last season he averaged eight tackles per game. When playing offense Jordan is a playmaker. He can utilize his quickness and ability to elevate above his defenders to make critical receptions, or make decisive blocks to clear a path for a teammate. Whether on defense or offense, Jordan is a leader and encourager, motivating his teammates to give 110%. At 5’ 9”, 168 lbs., Jordan currently has a time of 4.5 in the 40, and a 3.0 in the shuffle. Jordan continues to gain strength as he bench presses 160 and squats 230.
In addition to football, Jordan competes in track and basketball. He runs the 100-yard dash, as well as the 4x1 relay. He has played basketball since the age of four and continues in his high school career playing point guard for the Victory Christian varsity basketball team.
Jordan is active in the 24/7 youth group, he participates in the Victory Kidz Sidewalk Bus Ministry, assists in Sunday morning Connect Groups, and recently attended his first mission trip to Jamaica. Jordan maintains a 3.0 GPA and was nominated by his classmates to participate in the 2010 Basketball Homecoming Court.
In his spare time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and serving in the ministry at Victory Christian Center. After high school, Jordan plans to attend the University of North Texas majoring in Education and Recreation/Leisure Studies, and hopes to play football.
